This project was for a house in Rochdale consisting of 2 lounges, a games room, kitchen, 3 bedrooms & an office. Cabling supplied & fitted for telephone, broadband, TV, satellite, CCTV and associated equipment.
Sky & Freeview set up
A new digital aerial & satellite dish with an 8 way LNB was installed, the dish catered for two signal inputs to each of the three sky boxes down stairs. The sky box in the front lounge was wired via an IO port to shear its picture and the main Freeview aerial signal around the house via TV distribution amplifier. All the TV's were fitted with magic eyes to allow remote control of the front lounge sky box.
CCTV set up
The Network Video Recorder was installed in a discreet location away from any main living area, an Ethernet cable was installed to provide a direct connection to the main broadband router. The NVR was configured for continuous recording & off site viewing via the manufactures mobile APP. The cameras were installed as follows: front door, front left to cover the front garden, front right to cover the driveway, back left & back right for the back garden, right side to cover a ground floor side window, left side to cover side door. To enable easy viewing on all the house TV's, a digital modulator with HDMI pass through was installed. Because an HDMI signal was taken directly from the NVR we are able to achieve very high-quality viewing of a pre-configured group of cameras on all TV's by using a spear digital channel. The HDMI pass through feature of the digital modulator allowed the installation of a high-resolution monitor next to the NVR, this provides easy access to the CCTV system configuration, footage reviewing & saving to USB storage drive.
Broadband & WiFi set up
The main router was relocated from the entrance hall to the front lounge via the master filter socket data extension feature. This made it easy to Ethernet cable the front lounge Sky box as well as provide good wireless coverage for the main living areas on the ground floor. Additionally, a direct cable was installed to provide access to the first floor office space, this supplied a WiFi access point with two port hub for direct cable connection to a desktop PC and network printer.
